The pen, the sword, the eternal magic,

The enigma of life stood still,

On her journey to heaven,

On her quest for peace.

She was a poet, a deadly fighter

A warrior, a believer

But the truth of her life,

Remained in the dark.

She was the antagonist,

The protagonist of her own story;

She laid it down on paper,

All her tranquil thoughts

But there was war outside her door:

Dunkirk: Movie Review

Hey world! Hope you’re having a great weekend!:) Today I’m gonna review Dunkirk (directed by Christopher Nolan).

Undoubtedly, Christopher Nolan’s films are breathtakingly beautiful. This one really did live up to the expectations of a Harry Styles fan. Actually, I watched this movie only because Harry was playing a role in it. But, however this movie led to new favorites : Fionn Whitehead as Tommy and Barry Keoghan as George.

It was nice to see UK and France as an united side in war. They were allies, but I couldn’t help but notice a few discrepancies in this film regarding this fact. This movie was successful in weaving a tapestry of the two generations – the 1900s and the present world with the antique effects and the modern sound effects. Honestly, at times,  the sound mixing made me believe I was actually in the war zone. I could hear the same things the soldiers could hear – the intricate gunshots, dropping of bombs, etc.

This films saw youngsters trying to cheat death. Alex ( Harry Styles), Tommy ( Fionn Whitehead) , George ( Barry Keoghan) and many others were young combatants in this war against the Germans. This really bought tears to my eyes. Especially, George, who was my favorite in the film. George, at a mild age of 17, fought hard against pain when he got shot in the head and lost his eyesight.

The last few scenes of this film were probably the most inspirational ones I have ever seen. I really loved this movie from the depths of my heart. We really know anything about how difficult the lives of soldiers are. Dunkirk at least showed me a fragment of what their lives actually are.

Well, talking of war, we, humans should really stop fighting against each other.
