My tombstone (Part I)

There’s nothing for her to hold onto,

She’s gone with the wind, gone with the snow-

Barely even there, she’s slowly fading-

No-one noticed, but she’s still there.

Waiting for something to happen,

The world’s going against her

But she’s full of gallantry, and she’s fighting back,

Through her eyes it’s a world of pain, a world of red and remorse.

She’s wishing and hoping and praying;

That tomorrow’s going to be better than today.

Took time, but she got up.

She’s dancing on her own,

Adorned by the moonlight.

And then she stands out-

Slowly but steady.

She asked him,

What will be written on my tombstone?

The spark

Has the candle of-

Your consciousness,

Burned away?

Now you’re,

Stressed out.

Stop playing pretend;

It just doesn’t help.

To play the possum-

Those questions are,

Burning in your mind;

The questions which you can’t answer.

Just try-

The universe will conspire,

To help you achieve it.

But you don’t try,

As you’re only human.

It’s a highway-

Leading to Nico and the Niners,

Leading to tomorrow.

The spark will ignite,

When the time comes.

It’s a game within games,

And it’s time to say checkmate.

So, this is today’s quote:

Maya Angelou was an extremely inspiring person. Many of her quotes tell us to be the cause of someone else’s happiness.

“If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain; ”

– Emily Dickinson

Trying to cheer someone up during their misery is excruciatingly beautiful. I think this quote is self-explanatory. These are just a few simple words. But I’m bound to say that these words really lit up my day.

Don’t you think it is a bit like the universal language of kindness and love which Paulo Coelho wanted to explain in The Alchemist? The language which everyone understands? Yes, it is a language which people from cultures and origins different to us can understand effortlessly. And, yes, once we stop discriminating handicapped people, this language can mean the world to them. And nowadays isn’t there a saying which says:

” Throw kindness around like confetti”?

Brewing Hope

Inside this tranquil emotion lies myriad thoughts of mine. Hope is like an endless pit. It’s like a tunnel you cannot stop falling into. Just like the tunnel in Alice in Wonderland. It is an iridescent flower in the garden of darkness. Just when you thought it was the end, this nonchalant thought pops up. And then hope takes over your mind. And in the end, you end up winning the match. You end up winning the challenge. It is exactly like a kaleidoscope: blooming and blooming with happy colours. Does anybody remember the ancient Greek story including Prometheus and Epimetheus and Pandora? Well, I don’t criticise Pandora for bringing the evils of life into this world. I actually appreciate her for bringing them, and also for bringing the concept of hope. Can you imagine how much hope can do to the mind of a homeless person? How much it can help?

Well, this is a poem which I wrote. Hope you like it!!!!

THE PLEBEIAN

Hell was peeping through his sky,

All he wanted was one more time;

He looked around amidst his cry,

All were extravagant but couldn’t spare him a dime.

He felt around his cheeks where,

He had been lashed for taking food;

He already had it clear,

That this world was actually no good.

Tears came streaming down his eyes,

For his sister had just perished of hunger;

He had tried a million times,

To shut down all his anger.

But trying was no good to him,

And all he did was wonder;

Wonder about all those men,

Who had the world at their fingers.

All around him people were passing,

All rich, rich and rich;

Only one of them seemed to care about,

Poverty’s glitch.

She knelt down in front of him,

Asked him his name;

And in a trembling voice,

The plebeian said, “Ma’am, I’m Benjamin.”

She told him to unclench his fist,

And dropped umpteen coins and smiled;

And Benjamin’s heart was an unkempt beast,

As he had never thought that anyone could ever be so kind.

He muttered a small, “Thank you.”

And she just smiled and left;

But he didn’t have enough words to thank her,

So he just smiled and wept.

But the greatest unanswered question,

Was for the world to answer;

The same question throughout the generations,

What about the ‘Plebeian’?

Words are everything

Mellow, playful , supple and bold – that’s what words are.; and an intrepid reader tends to trip over them. Words are beautiful but stubborn children of our brain. And doesn’t that moment always come? The moment when language fails? The moment when  English fails to portray your thoughts? Yes, that moment arrives. Soon or late, it does come. During fall or during spring, that moment’s always there.

Image result for quotes on thoughts you can't describe

But we do understand that moment. The pain or the joy, the relief or the grief, we do understand. If you cannot simply explain it, here are some words which might help you to elaborate:

1.PETRICHOR

2.VOORPRET

Don’t we always feel it? The voorpret of life? Or something like the countdown before Christmas, or Halloween or Easter?

3.CHUTZPAH

Hmmmm…. some of us stink of  chutzpah, while some of us seriously lack it……

4.MUDITA
